Replies to My Spam

My spam folder gets more mail than I do. It amazes me what strange comments are offered up from “readers” with names like “best trash removal” and sharing dodgy links to YouTube and Polish websites. Most of them are not worth reading and a few are downright unreadable, as if a dictionary had gotten hideously drunk and puked up random words.

But once in a while there’s something that is almost worth sharing, despite the non-name name and dodgy links. So I’ve collected the highlights from my spam folder for the past few months and will reply to them here.

Hi! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting sick and tired of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

I’m happy to oblige. This is a WordPress site.

First of all I want to say great blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing. I’ve had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out. I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips?

I clear my head by writing, not the other way around. If I cleared my thoughts I would, by definition, have no thoughts left to write. It’s a good day when it only takes 10 to 15 minutes to begin; often it takes longer before something really comes together, and I often find myself starting in the middle of a blog post (or other writing project), then going back to fill in an opening.

Do you have a spam problem on this blog; I also am a blogger, and I was wondering your situation; many of us have developed some nice methods and we are looking to trade methods with other folks, please shoot me an e-mail if interested.

Yes, I have a spam problem. I let the built-in Akismet spam protection included with WordPress weed out spam comments, then review the spam folder occasionally to manually approve or delete comments.

As your comment did not use a real name and linked to a page selling diet drugs online, I suspect you’re part of the problem, not the solution.

Probably you spend a lot of time writing, i know how to save you a lot of work, there is an online tool that creates high quality, SEO friendly articles in minutes, just type in google…

If your comment is an example of what this online tool creates, it’s obvious you spend little time writing and zero time proofreading.

Hey! Do you know if they make any plugins to protect against hackers? I’m kinda paranoid about losing everything I’ve worked hard on. Any tips?

Fascinating question from a spammer. Are spammers really facing such threats from hackers? Ah… poetic justice!

What a stuff of un-ambiguity and preserveness of precious familiarity on the topic of unpredicted feelings.

Without the need of your state of health you don’t have a lot different. Utilizing the recommendations in the following paragraphs need to offer you no trouble handling and dealing with your diabetes mellitus. There is a lot of life kept to reside and you also want to be able to love it.

Some people should not be allowed to use a thesaurus. Or a keyboard.

And last, here’s a total word salad:
When yyou approach how much money didd you are spending within this process, our pursui will never be in vain. Thhis policy will help you protect your ring in case there is hoje related damage or if your ribg continues too be stolen from home.

Even correcting the misspellings leaves a mess. If you can make sense of it, leave a comment of your own below and earn my admiration.

A small but significant percentage of the spam my site receives includes links to websites selling counterfeit designer goods. This violates intellectual property laws and can be reported by visiting http://www.stopfakes.gov/consumer-tools/report-fake-goods. I report all links that I can identify as selling fake goods.
